Chellowdene has a great location, just metres from the beach’s superb facilities for bathing and surfing, and its cafe, bar and restaurant facilities. There is a purpose-built surfboard store and drying room for your surfing/walking gear and bikes, kite-surfing rig etc. There are a number of foam surfboards for guests’ use. If you fancy learning to surf, lessons can be arranged for you under the expert tuition of a former European champion.

Great Trethew Manor is set in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by 30 acres of beautiful gardens, woodlands and meadows. The only access is a delightful half mile drive. Bordered with many lovely trees and shrubs. There are many woodland and garden walks which harbour a wide variety of wildlife including, Woodpeckers, Jays, Nut Hatches, Pigeon, Pheasant, Partridge, Snipe, Kingfisher, Heron, Fox, Rabbits. Badgers and the occasional Deer. Within the grounds we have a hard tennis court, fish ponds, trout lake, croquet lawn, barbecue area, car parking and plenty of room for the children to play. We can offer pony riding or trekking on special request within the grounds of the hotel or if you would prefer a longer trek through the woodlands.
